Roughback Batfish

Roughback Batfish inhabit the western Atlantic from North Carolina and the northern Gulf of Mexico to Brazil but are absent from Bahamas.

Roughback Batfish are fairly rare and can be found among grassy patches. They aren't fast swimmers and instead ambush their prey. Batfish feed on clams, snails, and small fishes.
