Fish Facts: Roughback Batfish – Ogcocephalus Parvus

Roughback Batfish inhabit the western Atlantic from North Carolina and the northern Gulf of Mexico to Brazil but suppose to be absent from the bahamas although I have one report from the area.

Roughback Batfish are fairly rare and can be found among grassy patches. They aren’t fast swimmers and instead ambush their prey. Batfish feed on clams, snails, and small fishes.
