Fish Facts: Pacific Bearded Brotula

Pacific Bearded Brotula – Brotula clarkae inhabits rocky reefs and nearby sand bottoms. The Pacific Bearded Brotula is native to Southern Baja and the central Gulf of California South to Peru.

Despite the Brotula’s eel like appearance it is not an eel but instead a fish more closely related to cods and hake than eels.
