Wake
Moving waves that a boat leaves behind it caused by the boat pushing the water aside as its hull travels through the water.

Weir
A barrier constructed to restrict the flow of water from a canal, ditch or other body of water. Water will flow over, but the weir prevents the flow of water below a certain level. Weirs can also be designed to always allow flow albiet restricted or reduced to allow for the movement of fish and other aquatic species past the weir.
