Keel
The principal structural member of a ship, running lengthwise along the center line from bow to stern, to which the frames are attached.

Kelt
A spawned out steelhead salmon.

Kinetic Energy
Kinetic Energy = Weight / 450,800 X Speed in feet per second. Kinetic energy measures the amount of energy a bullet or arrow has.

Knot
A measure of speed equal to one nautical mile per hour(6076 feet)

A fastening made by tying together lengths of material, such as rope, in a prescribed way. ie. your shoelaces are tied in a knot called a shoelace knot.

Krill
Small abundant crustaceans that form an important part of the food chain in Antarctic waters.

Kype
The hooked jaw that male salmon develop during spawning.
