Atlantic Wolffish - Anarchichas lupus

The wolffish is the largest member of the blenny family, Anarrchichadidae. The Atlantic Wolffish (Anarchichas lupus) is the shown in the picture. There are two other species living in the Atlantic and one in the Pacific ocean. Wolffish live in the colder waters of the North Atlantic on both the Eastern and Western Coast.

Atlantic Wolffish are not a migratory species. They live on the bottom of the ocean feeding on Starfish, mollusks, and crustaceans. The live in depths of 50 to 350 feet deep.

Believe it are not these ugly fish are considered a great food fish. Wolffish aren't overly large fish. They reach a size of about 20 pounds.
