Silver Chub (Macrhybopsis storeriana)

The silver chub lives in large, sandy rivers. The silver chub find food by both sight and smell. They feed on insects, invertebrates and small mollusks. They can reach 9 inches in length but most are 4 or 5 inches long.

Silver chub range throughout the Mississippi, Ohio, and Mobile basins east to the Brazos River drainage in Texas.
