Roosterfish - Nematistius pectoralis

Roosterfish inhabit the shoreline of the Pacific Ocean from Panama north to the Gulf of California. Roosterfish stay right up close to the sandy or rocky shoreline and reach weights of up to 114 pounds.

Roosterfish have a very exotic look as you can see from the picture. Their dorsal is quite unique and the dark dusky stripes are quite unique as well.

Roosterfish aren't the best eating. They have very dark meat being a member of the jack family. But due to their unique look and unparalleled fighting abilities, they are a highly prized game fish.
