Willow Oak

Willow Oak often called pin oak in the south has a high wildlife value due to the fruit (acorns). Willow oaks are members of the red oak family. Red oaks produce more consistently than the white oak group. Before getting to excited for hunting about a producing tree first check the acorns for worms and rot. Sometimes the acorns will be abundant but will be of no use to deer or turkey.
