Shumard Oak

Shumard Oak Quercus shumardii range from East Texas to North Florida northward to Illinois and Maryland with some trees actually as for North as Ontario.

Shumard oak is an excellent tree for wildlife and also for hardwood timber. It is a lowland tree and grows scattered with other oaks and doesn't dominate any forest stands unfortunately for foresters and wildlife.
