Sow Russian

Sow Russian

Rajun Cajun aka Wilderness Wayne took the hog above but I will let him tell the story.

Went to my lockon that has 2 feeders throwing corn for the last 2 weeks. Filmed redbirds, squirrells, and a blue bird.

About 6 pm I heard hogs way off coming towards me. Looked over my shoulder and saw a HERD of them headed my way. Could not do a 180 with the camera on the tree mount arm so I swiveled it to catch them coming in.

There were 8, 6 went to my feeder, a boar about 150 pounds went underneath my lock on and started rubbing a tree, a BIG sow hung out about 30 yards away.

I only got the 6 at my feeder on film as I set my camera on them, then drew back my Legacy and waited for my shot. I actually took a smaller sow (95 pounds) as she finally gave me a perfect quartering away shot. I made the shot (perfect) and got it on film. They scattered and she ran about 40 yards, turned running back, and dropped 20 yards from where I had shot her.

I got down and filmed tracking her....blood trail was a steady stream from my arrow to where she lay! The 3 blase 100 grain Muzzy blew out the bottom after takin out both lungs and the liver.

First segment for my Hog Hunting video and it went GREAT!
