Proof: Hunter In Kansas Provides Cougar Picture

Kansas wildlife biologists confirmed that a live mountain lion has been photographed roaming free in Kansas. Kansas biologist receive many reports of sightings and even pictures of cougars every year. Most of the picture invariably turn out to be so poor due to low quality cell phone pics, too great a distance, or blur due to movement that invariably the pictures can't be used as proof.

Well finally a hunter has turned in a whole series of pictures of a cougar that were of good enough quality to be used as proof. So this 2009 Kansas cougar has the stamp of approval from the Kansas biologist.

This confirmation becomes the second confirmed cougar in Kansas in recent years. The first was killed in 2007. The nearest known cougar population is a newly formed population in western Nebraska.
