
Yellowfin Mojarra (Gerres cinereus)are silver-white in color, with a somewhat pointed snout. The Yellowfin Mojarra is often confused with other Mojarras but can readily be distinguished by it yellow anal and pelvic fins. They can also be identified by the deeply forked tailfin and the dorsal fin i which the first spine is very short and the second spine is the longest.
The Yellowfin Mojarra are small fish reaching a maximum length of about 1 foot. The Yellowfin Mojarra live in the top 100 feet of the water over sandy bottoms. They range through much of the Western Atlantic and Eastern Pacific oceans.
