The Yellow Stingray Urobatis jamaicensis has quite a few common names. It is a member of the round stingray family and is sometimes refered to as round stingray. Others names are yellow spotted stingray, maid stingray and raya pintada (Spanish).
The Yellow Ray is distributed Western Atlantic from North Carolina to Florida and throughout the Gulf of Mexico and also in the Bahamas and the Caribbean where it is less abundant.
