Yellow Goatfish range in the Atlantic from Bermuda and Florida to Brazil, including the Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean Sea.

Goatfish have a pair of whiskers called barbels that they use their to locate food in the sand. When Goatfish aren't eating, they swim in small schools above the reef.

Yellow Goatfish are usually found in schools during the day, and feeding solitarily at night.
