The Whitespine Surgeonfish aka Eyestripe Surgeonfish is easy to recognize by its distinctive coloratrions as seen in the photo above.

Like all species of Surgeonfish there is a spine just before the tailfin. As the name implys the spine of the Whitespine Surgeonfish Surgeonfish is white.

These fish are found in tropical waters of the Indo-West and Central Pacific, including Hawaii where this picture was taken.
