White Weakfish aka White Seabass, King Croaker or Corvinata Blanca is strikingly similiar to the weakfish and speckled trout of the Atlantic but instead resides in the Pacific ocean along the west coast of North America from Acapulco North to California. White weakfish have is basically light colored with a few verticle dark bars on its back not normally extending to the belly. The inside of the mouth is orange and the bars on the side fade with age.
White Weakfish reach weights as large as 80 pounds although one half that size would be considered a large specimen. White weakfish are targeted game fish species of the Southern California small boat fisherman. Its primary food is small fishes (anchovies, pacific mackerel and sardines) and squid.
White Weakfish are a popular fish amongst fisherman and are considered excellent table fare.
