Pictured above is a Stoplight Parrotfish. They reach sizes of up too two feet long. Pictured here is a female. Female Spotlight Parrotfish can be identified by the very large scales with some scales being white and others are gray each scale with a black outline. They fish has red fins and a belly. Another distinguishing feature is the yellow spot above the eye.
Parrotfishes eat algae from rocks and corals. An interesting note about the Spotlight Parrotfish is that they can change from gender to gender multiple times during their lifetime.
