Stinging catfish  (Heteropneustes fossilis)

The stinging catfish is a somewhat dangerous species found in parts of Asia. This one was caught in Iraq. The dangerous come in because the catfish has poison in two glands on the pectoral fin spine and can be fatal. If stung you should immerse the wound in very hot water to dissipate the poison and then get in touch with a doctor immediately.
