Speckled Peacock aka peacock bass is the largest of the peacocks all of which are native to South America. There have been numerous attempts to establish speckled peacock in Texas and Florida waters but due to the intolerance to cold temperatures most populations have eventually died out.

The speckled peacock can be most easily identified by its size and by the black blotches present behind the eye. Max size is about 25 pounds.
