The Spanish Flag inhabits rocky reefs at depths from 200 to 1200 feet. The are usually found from the North Gulf Coast through out gulf of Mexico and Bahamas and Caribbean but have been caught as far south as Brazil and as Far north as the mid-atlantic states.
The Spanish flag is small and only reach sizes of about 1 foot in length. They live on a diet of fish and crabs.
