South American Silver Croaker

Most people can recognize this as a member of the drum family which are largely saltwater species. But the South American Silver Croaker actually inhabits both freshwater and brackish water. Young feed on larvae of crustaceans, aquatic insects and copepods. Adults prey on fish.
