Slender filefish

The Slender filefish (Monacanthus tuckeri) occurs throughout the Gulf of Mexico and the Carribean, extending from North Carolina down to norther South America.

They feed on algae and can be found commonly around rocky outcroppings or coral reefs. Young usually found near surface hiding among drifting debris and weedlines.
