Sargassumfish as the name implies live amongst the Sargassum plants that can be found on offshore rips. Sargassumfish are members of the frogfish family. The scientific name is Histrio histrio. They range from the New England South all the way to Brazil. Maximum size is only about 6 inches.

Since they are of no interest to commercial or sportfisherman the only interest in Sargassumfish is through the aquarium fish trade.
