The Marlin-spike Grenadier reaches sizes of 100 cm. They inhabit the cold waters of the Western and Eastern Atlantic southward to about 17°N.
They are a deep water fish so are rarely seen by most people. Living as deep as 4500 feet deep. Marlin-spike Grenadier's feeds mostly on coelenterates and sometimes decapods, tunicates and fishes.
