The leatherjack is a member the jack family. It is best recognized by a jack that has the general body shape of a mackerel with yellow fins.

Leatherjackets are found in both the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. Ranging North to the New York in the atlantic and Southern California in the Pacific.
