Iridescent Shark - Pangasius hypophthalmus

The Iridescent Shark also goes by the name Sutchi Catfish is a native of the Mekong, Chao Phraya and has been introduced into other areas.

The Iridescent Shark is not a shark but a catfish and can attain weights of at least 100 pounds. Juvenile specimens are sometimes sold for the aquarium pet market to unsuspecting people. Young are black to grey adult fish are described as being uniformly light grey in color.

There appears to be some differences in color between males and females with the males being darker and also the males being more slender but I can't confirm this.

This catfish is an omnivore.
