Gulf Hake live in the Western Atlantic Ocean from Florida into the Gulf of Mexico South to northern South America.
Gulf Hake are found in fairly deep waters and are usually associated with mud bottoms. Hake although somewhat ugly are excellent eating and are closely related to cod fish.
Gulf hake are not very large fish, reaching sizes of only about 5 pounds.
