Gray Gurnard - Eutrigla gurnardus

The grey gurnard is a bottom dwelling fish that lives along the coast of Europe as far south as the Mediteranian. They are found in deep or shallow waters from only a few feet deep down to about 200 feet deep. Gurnards crawl along the sea bed probing using the modified front three rays of their pectoral fins as legs.

Grey gurnard reach maturity at two years or three years and spawn from late spring through the summer months.

Grey gurnard are not important commercially or recreationally.
