Greater Soapfish - Rypticus saponaceus

Greater Soapfish inhabit the shallow waters of the Western Atlantic Ocean. They prefer coral or other reef like habitats such as wrecks and oilrigs. Food is smaller fish. Greater soapfish are secretive and solitary mainly night feeder. Soapfish get their name from the mucus the secret which can be lathered up just like soap.
