Gray angelfish (Pomachanthus arcuatus) range in the Western Atlantic from Brazil North to the New England states. Gray Angelfish attain a weight of less than 5 pounds.
They common on coral reefs and are found singly or sometimes in pairs but aren't a schooling fish.
Gray angelfish feed mainly on sponges.
Gray angelfish change color as they mature. Pictured above is an adult, the young are black with vertical yellow stripes.
