Creek Chub

Creek Chub's live in small clear to slighlty muddy streams, over sand, gravel, or rock. Creek Chubs range extends over the entire Eastern and central United States with the exception of Florida. Chreek chubs are a small fish that reaches a maximum size of 12 inches.

The redish color that is shown in these pictures only appears during the spawning season. The rest of the year the color returns to a brownish color.

Creek Chubs are occasionaly caught by fly fisherman. Creek Chubs are commonly used as bait for larger species of fish.
