Male Convict Cichlid (Cichlasoma nigrofasciatum) are a fish from Central America. They are very aggressive when spawning. Convict Cichlids are omnivorous and will eat just about anything.
They are popular in the aquarium fish trade and are easy to breed in captivity. They will eat anything they can catch but are good parents to their own young.
