Blue-spotted spinefoot (Siganus corallinus)

Blue-spotted spinefoot - Siganus corallinus

The Blue-spotted spinefoot (Siganus corallinus) lives in the Indian and Western Pacific Oceans.

The Blue Spotted Spinefoot is also known as the Blue Spotted Rabbitfish. The fish is a inhabitant of reefs. It is a beautiful fish with a yellow body covered entirely with many small blue dots. This look has given it a place in many aquariums around the world. Although it looks like a tang, angelfish or surgeon fish it actually belongs in the family of rabbitfish.

The Blue Spotted Rabbitfish is not predatory and feeds on vegetative mater and algae and some coral polyps. And the fish is itself good to eat.
