The Blackmouth Catshark is a deepwater bottomd welling shark found in waters of the North Atlantic as far south as Senegal and the Mediterranean Sea. Usually found in waters 600 to 3000 feet deep.
The Blackmouth Catshark has startaling colors with numerous dark saddles and circular spots. They feed mainly on invertebrates such as shrimps and cephalopods, but also on small lanternfishes and other smallfish.
They have a small and limited commercial value.
