The banded gunnel (Pholis fasciata) is found in the Arctic Ocean, to Southern Labrador and Western Greenland and the North Pacific Ocean. The banded gunnel can be identified by a blackish bar from the top of its head through the eye to the corner of its mouth with a creamy band right behind the eye. Banded gunnels have sides and dark bands on its dorsal fin. The banded gunnel also has some yellowish gray saddles on its back.
