Atlantic Goldeye Tilefish are distributed along the western Atlantic from North Carolina to Florida South to Brazil, throughout the Caribbean and in the Gulf of Mexico at least in Louisiana where this one was caught.

Atlantic Goldeye Tilefish like to live around broken hard bottoms, this one was caught at the Midnight Lump which has some structure to it unlike most of the surrounding waters.

They eat crustaceans and other invertebrates and sometimes fish.
