The African Pompano is a silver fish and a hard fighter. They are usually caught while fishing for other species since they are fairly rare here. They can attain weights of 50 pounds but 25 pounds is much more common. They are caught while fishing over wrecks and are also considered good eating. Live bait or large jigs account for most of the catches.
