| Swamp White Oak is a medium size oak tree that ranges in a band from Mass. to Iowa. The tree can be recognized by typical oak leaf with with large irregular blunt teeth, 3 to 7 inches long and 2 to 4 inches wide. The fruit is a 1 inch long acorn with a cap that covers about 1/3 of acorn. The acorns are eaten by a whole host of animals including deer, turkey, squirrel and other small mammals. |
