Woodcock are also know as Timberdoodle. Usually hunted with pointers are by simply jumpshooting them as you walk through the lowland woodlands. Sometimes if you know the right location you can pass shoot them as they fly by right at dark.
Timberdoodles eat earthworms that they find by probeing the ground with their long beaks. So land soft enough for this activity is a must for a successful hunt.
