Today took my 45/70 out for the first time today and even with the Sims recoil pad it kicks like a mule. first three shots were 10" high at 100. Move to 30 dialed it down and were on the money for three more shots. Quity after that to let the shoulder rest. Going to try and get it dialed in at 100 sunday. Took the 30-30 and it was also high at 100. I have put a slip on sims pad on it for the kids to shoot and its recoil is less than a .410 now. Shot the sks and it is on, only had 5 rounds, stopped at several places and finally found some Winchester soft points at the pawn shop. the Twins have the option of using the 30-30, sks or a 20ga 870 this weekend for the youth hunts. _________________

Excellent.
I don't like the slip on pads cuz they make the lenght of pull longer.
What do you think your max range with the sks is?
I don't know much about them, the only one I ever shot was all over the place, but he garunteed it would never jam or fail to fire. It was his home defence weapon, no real accuracy needed, reliability was the key. _________________ The end doesn't justify the means.
