Well it isn't an unknown species to scientist but is largely unknown to the general public despite the fact that it is found throughout most oceans of the world. And its strange look had onlookers wondering what just washed up on their beach. The fish is quite large as you can see and has no teeth.
The fish is commonly called a Luvar. Strange name for a strange fish. The Luvar as it is called is not an abundant species but it is largely unknown due to its diet, which is mainly jellyfish. Not many fisherman use jellyfish for bait or have lures that mimic a jellyfish.
Just glad I could help clear up their delima in identifying this little known fish species.
