Like going back in time! This picture is from Yellowstone National Park. Wolves were reintroduced there a few years ago and they are doing fine. I think there are something like 13 different wolf packs now.
Here is a dark colored wolf in a stand off with a huge buffalo! This wolf was stalking the buffalo but the rest of his pack would have nothing to do with it. Now this wolf even with the rest of his pack would not ever take down a full grown male buffalo. So what was it doing? Without a doubt it new it wasn't actually doing to kill the buffalo so I wonder what he really had in mind.
Maybe just harrasing him for the fun of it. Or maybe to get the buffalo to flee to impress his girl friend??? Who knows!
