Strange Nutria with 5 Legs

Pictured above is a 5 legged nutria that was trapped in early February 2004 by Kim Serigne. The freak of nature came from the Delacroix area which is below New Orleans on the East side of the Mississippi River.

The near fully formed leg protrudes from the back of the nutrias neck. It has an elbow joint, bone, muscle and toe nails however the foot is not fully formed, but Kim reports that the leg appeared to be functional while the nutria was alive. This has got to be one of the strangest things I have ever seen!
